Our Dear Friend Sister Agatha cares for and ministers to women and their children in three different prisons in Mombasa, whose children are forced to grow up in the prisons alongside their mothers who are doing their jail terms. All through this time of COVID, Sister continues to provide such essentials as eggs, milk, and fresh fruit to supplement their daily diet of corn and beans as well as sanitary towels, diapers and toilet paper, among other items. It has been a difficult and rather lonely time. Our communication with Sister has been over the phone but Fiona is making a trip to the coast in the coming days for the first time since the pandemic to see first hand all that is happening and support Sister’s work in any way she/we can.
