The time passes here marked and jewelled by ordinary things. We like it and them that way. The fun is in the creases. Know what I mean?

Jest settin' on the porch a spell of an afternoon.
What you call Chutes and Ladders is here, Snakes and Ladders. An upgrade, I think.
Folding laundry was the post dinner activity. Christine had a big pile on the sofa in the boy's house.
Everybody folded his own stuff, in his own way. Here's Simon's upright table fold.
And here's his one knee up hunched over floor fold.
Jeff's one-knee-up, straight-back floor fold.
Sammy and Steve in chair detention for some extracurriculars.
Courage's lap casual take.
Kaleb invented the table top hand ironing method.
Joshua, whose birthday was Wednesday, in the two-handed, groin stretch style.
Peter's meditative, budding Benedictine monk posture.
Jeff's modified, side-saddle, look.
The hurdler's stretch fold.
Lucky's "happy to be here folding" groove.
Pretty soon there was one pile per boy.
John emerged as a sock specialist.
Ferreting out the matches,
then stuffing one down the other's gullet.
On the seventh pile, we rested.
The girls were hard at it too.
Folding and filling up their drawers.
Folding...
...and filling.
.
When we’re not folding clothes we’re out getting ’em dirty. Just a snake eating its tail, I guess, and happy on the way.
So long for now,
David

January 9, 2012 at 7:39 amDear Toe,
The Barbies, as most right thinking people know, are currently required only to look nice. But I’m tossing around the idea of giving them mohawks and requiring them to start an Occupy plastic surgeons offices.
Whadaya think?
