As we all know, the 5th of February is Allison’s birthday, so its no surprise that there was a lot of excitement in the build up to the big day.

Folks started gathering early, some just sitting around waiting for the birthday party to begin.
.
.
[singlepic id=1384 w=320 h=240 float=]
But we had business to attend to before the festivities could get all the way underway, and that took us to this place where the Birthday mixer was made.
.
.
[singlepic id=1385 w=320 h=240 float=]
There were welders and cutters and grinders
.
.
[singlepic id=1386 w=320 h=240 float=]
and all sorts of people
.
.
[singlepic id=1387 w=320 h=240 float=]
pitching in to make the beautiful machine.
.
.
[singlepic id=1388 w=320 h=240 float=]
One reminded me of Ray Charles.
.
.
[singlepic id=1389 w=320 h=240 float=]
There were sparks flying
.
.
[singlepic id=1390 w=320 h=240 float=]
and lights flashing, and in due course
.
.
[singlepic id=1393 w=320 h=240 float=]
a big yellow B-Day Mixer emerged.
.
.
[singlepic id=1394 w=320 h=240 float=]
It was tested
.
.
[singlepic id=1395 w=320 h=240 float=]
and inspected
.
.
[singlepic id=1396 w=320 h=240 float=]
and touched up
.
.
[singlepic id=1397 w=320 h=240 float=]
and greased up
.
.
[singlepic id=1398 w=320 h=240 float=]
and lifted up
.
.
[singlepic id=1399 w=320 h=240 float=]
by a whole bunch of strong guys
.
.
[singlepic id=1400 w=320 h=240 float=]
who heaved and ho-ed
.
.
[singlepic id=1401 w=320 h=240 float=]
and pushed and pulled
.
.
[singlepic id=1402 w=320 h=240 float=]
until the mixer was safely
.
.
[singlepic id=1403 w=320 h=240 float=]
in the back of the little pick up that (we hoped) could. And then it took a twenty mile trip, its first, over some very mean roads
.
.
[singlepic id=1404 w=320 h=240 float=]
until it was pushed and pulled again
.
.
[singlepic id=1405 w=320 h=240 float=]
and guided safely
.
.
[singlepic id=1406 w=320 h=240 float=]
into its new home.
.
.
[singlepic id=1412 w=320 h=240 float=]
Where it lived up to its name and mixed the biggest, best B-Day cake ever.
.
.
[singlepic id=1418 w=320 h=240 float=]
And they all ate
.
.
[singlepic id=1419 w=320 h=240 float=]
happily
.
.
[singlepic id=1420 w=320 h=240 float=]
ever
.
.
[singlepic id=1421 w=320 h=240 float=]
after
.
.
[singlepic id=1422 w=320 h=240 float=]
The End.

February 6, 2009 at 2:18 pmOK, the birthday celebration should be over when this e-mail reaches you, so let’s get down to running big slabs of concrete to finish off the house………………….

February 7, 2009 at 11:10 amThe mixer is a great addition to the complex and will, I’m sure, pull its weight in work. But how about a round of applause for the little truck that could? Amazing that the little Toyota could carry the big yellow birthday cake/machine!

February 9, 2009 at 3:55 amWow. That’s a beautiful piece of work. It will be amazing to see all that it produces. I can see there’s alot of necessary grieving left to do from that broken-into vehicle. And so understandably, alot of grieving to leave your wonderful girls. Alas. It’s also so good to hear your reports again.

Yes. All true. As you and Debi know from your current travels. Can’t wait to see you. Go well.
