Howdy,
.
As promised, here are several groups, or galleries as they are known in this corner of webville, of photos that correspond to the last Recent News entry, Here and There, the what’s happening list. I’ll try and get others up in a timely fashion. I’d say the odds are about 50/50 on that.

Our brick making field trip and ditch day…well half day.

Putting the dirt (murram) through a sieve.
Adding the right amount of water and mixing it in.
That\'s Joseph for those of you who thought he looked familiar.
Brushing in a little used motor oil to help the first few bricks on there way out, post squeezing.
Tony and the demonstrator, Moses, adding the compacting muscle.
The birth of a brick.
Joseph admiring the little darling.
All the proud fathers. Moses, Joseph, DWS, Joseph Wambua, the newly hired construction foreman, Benson, and Tony. Gilbert is behind the camera.
Trevor\'s guest house, made with the same machine and the same bricks.
Tony and the rest of the young scholars I picked up on the Daystar Road home.
Our brick at one day old.

The faces only a mother or father (who is just as ugly) could love. And Gilbert’s new bow and arrow.

Thanks for the kind words and your steady support for the project. I’ll be home November and December, and we’ll make sure to get together around the holidays at Greg and Susan’s.
Look forward to seeing you then. Love to Dottie.

August 12, 2008 at 10:53 amKing David,
Once again your words, photos, and spirit arm me with hope and courage. You can make the birth of a brick an immaculate conception.
Much peace to you. Remember, we are now Monterey people, about a half mile from Cannery Row. Can’t wait to feed you to the Sea Lions.
Love,
Jim, Lisa Micheletti & Ladies
P.S. Had great barbecue with Chris and Debbi Lorenc a few week ago.

August 14, 2008 at 11:14 amHi Jim, Lisa, Kristen and Sophia,
Glad the move to the coast suits you. I’ll be there with bells on sometime in Nov/Dec, if the sea lions can wait that long to be fed. I’ll brush up on my Steinbeck.
All of you are often in my thoughts.
Love from this side,
David
